Wrestlers Take 2nd at Semi-State and Take 8 to State!

The wrestling team competed at semi-state this past weekend and took a close second to Chesterton.  Portage will be taking eight individuals to the state tournament that will begin this Friday.  Portage is tied with Brownsburg in taking the most wrestlers to state this weekend, if a wrestler wins Friday night they ensured all-state honors.

Wrestling Team Rolled Through Regionals!

The wrestling team had another excellent day at the Calumet Regional wrestling tournament on Saturday.  The team rolled through the competition qualifying all 14 wrestlers for this Saturdays semi-state held at East Chicago.  Congratulations and keep making Portage proud! Wrestlers Bring Home 2017 Sectional Trophy!

The wrestling team kicked off the start of their 2017 State tournament this weekend at the Calumet Sectional.  The wrestling team had another great day with getting all 14 wrestlers in the finals, easily winning the Sectionals.  The tournament results were as follows: 106 – Ty Haskins (18-7) placed 1st and scored 26.00 team points.

Wrestling Seniors Take Center Mat.

Last night the wrestling seniors filled the lineup as the Indians defeated Lake Central 54-19. en route to going undefeated in the conference. The wrestling team will be traveling to Hobart on Saturday to wrestle in their final tournament prior to starting the State tournament next Saturday on the 28th. To view the photo gallery

Wrestlers walk away with conference.

The wrestling team traveled to Chesterton High School to compete in the Duneland Athletic Conference tournament on Saturday.  The Wrestling team took first place overall and walked away with seven conference champions. Indians Pin Slicers

The Portage Indian Varsity wrestling team remained undefeated, in the Duneland Athletic Conference, with a resounding victory over the Laporte Slicers.  The Indians will wrestle in the Duneland Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday morning at Chesterton (9:00 am cst).
