The Portage varsity boys basketball team defeated DAC rival LaPorte on Friday night 58-42. It was a great team defensive effort by the Indians against the Slicers. Karmari Slaughter led the Indians in scoring with 21 points followed by Jaelon Hollies 12. Jorryn Junigan 12, Nate Orosz 9, Blake Creech 2 and Primo Del Valle 2. Slaughter led in rebounds with 8 followed by Orosz 6, and Junigan 6. Assists leaders were Slaughter with 5 and Hollies with 5. Junigan and Hollies led in steals with 4 each. The Indians will play their last home game of the season next Tuesday night when Lake Station comes to town.
