Joseph to be Inducted in Hall of Fame

Portage alumni Fred Joseph will be inducted into the Wrestling Hall of Fame this February.  Fred was a two-time state champion with a record of 172-25.  He went on to wrestle in college at the University of Wisconsin – Parkside.  Fred is currently a teacher at Willowcreek Middle School and coaches our Braves!  Congratulations, Fred!

Girls XC 18th at State Finals

The girls cross country team placed 18th at the 34th annual IHSAA State Cross Country Finals in Terre Haute on Saturday. This was Portage’s 18th time in the state finals. Freshman Football Finishes Undefeated Season

The Portage Indians Freshman Football team beat the LaPorte Slicers on Thursday 31-6 to finish the season a perfect 9-0. The Indians season started off with a bang, beating Mishawaka 28-6. They then beat Penn 14-6 in OT to improve to 2-0. The Indians continued their dominance beating Lake Central and Merrillville 31-8 and 42-0.

Boys’ Cross Country Takes Third at Regionals

The Portage boys’ cross country team took 3rd in a very closely contested New Prairie Regional this weekend.  Scores were Valparaiso 50, LaPorte 56 and Portage 56.  The Indians were led by first and second place finishers Mat Marsh and Tommy Martin as well as other All-Regional runners Tylor Hudson and Dillon Quinones.  The Indians
