Wrestlers Compete at National Preseason Tournament

Eight members of the Portage Indian Wrestling Team competed Sunday, September 9th in Fort Wayne, Indiana at the IndianaMat Hoosier Preseason Open (IHPO).  Leading the way for the Indians was Kasper McIntosh winning his 148 lbs bracket with a fall and 5 decisions including a 7-2 decision in the finals.  Colin Poynter placed 3rd and finished the day with two falls, a technical fall, a major decision and two decisions.  Kris Rumph rounded out the Indian placewinners with a 4th place finish.  He finished his day with a fall, a technical fall, and two major decisions.

The following wrestlers competed:

Bradley Conrad, Jacob Moran, Ty Haskins, Ricky Hegedus, Colin Poynter, Kris Rumph, Kasper McIntosh, and Chester Swopes.  All wrestlers competed hard and we look forward to the upcoming season.
